Effect of Mineral Premix Supplementation on Intake and Digestibility of Repeat Breeder Cows

Abstract Repeat breeder is a problem faced by cattle farmers in Indonesia. The highest reproductive disease commonly occurring repeat conditions reaching up to 32.76%. Limited feed cause cows have low Body Condition Score (BCS) so that the energy utilization process body not optimal and there decrease BCS which causes disturbances performance. If mineral deficiency body, metabolic will be disrupted, absorption of nutrients less optimal. Feeding only increases weight but also becomes basis for success pre-breeding phase, pregnancy pre-calving phase lactation. Energy, protein, fat, needs need met balanced way. level consumption digestibility benchmark meeting nutritional needs. purpose this study was evaluate impact premix supplementation on cows’ digestibility. This used definite cows, were breeders selected from several farms Yogyakarta’s Sleman district. feeding trial lasted 71 days with predetermined arrangement. provided forage, commercial concentrate, High Quality Feed Supplement (HQFS) premix. Then, data analyzed calculating average value, standard deviation, coefficient variation. showed had no significant differences (p>0.05) nutrient metabolites (DM, OM, CP, EE, ADF, NDF, NFE TDN) both treatment groups. In it found protein parameters (p<0.05), while DM, NFE, TDN, difference two crude group given higher than without premix, P0 indicates 35.1% P1 45.1%.
